on the same trip we went to butchart gardens which is a botanical garden. it was really nice.. all lit up for christmas. the size of the trees there, and in bc in general, are enormous. here's one:

below is a picture of an obviously dead salmon. when we were in bc in december we missed the salmon run by a week or so and all that was left was an awful smell and tons and tons of salmon carcasses. hmm, i took another one with my foot so you can see just how big these suckers are.. you'll just have to believe me when i say they're huge!
